Explanation of " Convenience Fee"
Giving our customers the OPTION of paying their bills online has generated several additional expenses; the cost of software, website maintenance and administration, to name a few. Given that Aspen Sanitation is a publicly owned utility, we did not feel it fair to pass on these expenses to all our customers (taxpayers) by raising rates across the board. Instead, we have implemented a “convenience fee” to cover at least a portion of the costs to provide this service.
